Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who started her career through clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she graduated. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet and was later released on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. In addition to being a published author, her other career was as a performer. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she scored many breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP in Fina We Trust.
