
Leona Louise (born on April 3, 1986) is a British actor, singer, activist, and actor. She was born and raised in the London Borough of Islington and was a student at the Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis could gain not only national recognition when she took home The X-Factor's third series in the year 2006. She also received the PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. A cover of Kelly Clarkson's"A Moment Like This" was her winner. The song racked up 50,000 digital downloads in under thirty minutes, and peaked at No. 1 for the duration of four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February 2007. Her success was further boosted by the album release of her debut album of her own, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album of the 2000s as well as one of the top-selling albums of UK chart time. The Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the 21st-century's best-selling album for a debut female. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" was at the top of UK charts for seven straight weeks and then became the top-selling single of 2007. Also, it was the biggest-sold single sold in the US the same year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. Echo was her second studio album. The album also featured the track "I See You" for Avatar. Lewis's song "Collide," was made in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she also dropped Hurt the EP. It was her first extended play. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis, drawing on dubstep and electronic music. The singer began recording material to her first Christmas album during her Glassheart Tour, which took between mid-2013. Christmas with Love was released later that year. The album's first single, "One More Sleep" reached the top spot at three across the UK. Lewis was one of the few British female solo artist, was the first British solo artist to break the top 5 with eight singles. It was more than Olivia Newton John's record which included seven singles.
